“Moorehead Podium Call-Up”

If you don’t like impromptu public speaking at a podium this may not be the meeting for you, but if you’re open to sharing in public, this meeting offers a safe environment for delving into deep topics, sharing insight that might benefit others, and an opportunity to learn from those grappling with similar things. Attendees are called on at random to confab on topics such as implementing the 12 steps, practicing acceptance and defining spirituality.

“Q&A Meeting”

All meeting attendees write anonymous questions related to addiction recovery on a piece of paper and place it in a basket. When the questions are picked out at random everyone has the opportunity to answer the question, providing many perspectives on diverse recovery topics.

There is no sharing or discussion, so if you’re just in the mood to listen to others this is a perfect meeting for gaining insight. There is a speaker for the first ten minutes that shares their story of addiction and recovery. The main speaker talks for the next 40 minutes about their experience and how they found hope, strength and solutions. Chips are given out at this meeting. It’s a great place to celebrate sobriety and get recognized.

“Back to Basics Speaker”
Saturday, 7:30 pm

This meeting functions the same as the “Balboa Speaker Group.” There is a speaker for the first ten minutes that shares their story of addiction and recovery. The main speaker talks for the next 40 minutes about their experience. Chips are given out at this meeting. It’s a great place to celebrate sobriety and get recognized.
