Sure Haven offers a continuum of care through our Step Down Process, ensuring that we release the support gradually.
Your daughter has battled her addiction for years, and unfortunately recovery doesn’t happen overnight.
While everyone travels at different speeds, it often is a long, slow process that usually lasts up to a year. At Sure Haven, she can continue working with the same loving and supportive team during this period, as she gradually reintegrates into the community.
After treatment, it is wise and recommended that clients finish their first year of sobriety in sober living. Our women tell us that they experience a family-like environment in our homes and that they are grateful for the safety and support of a dedicated sober atmosphere, and the assistance Sure Haven happily provides in rebuilding their lives.
In the haven of our sober living environment, women gain strength while residing with those who share the desire for healthy interactions and positive methods of coping before embarking on the rest of a life of sobriety.
Because addiction and alcoholism center around the desire to obtain and use drugs or alcohol, we often neglect other areas of our lives and interactions. Sober living at Sure Haven enables women to develop – or redevelop – basic life skills such as accountability pertaining to education, work, fitness and social interactions; develop a regular schedule that can create healthy time management patterns; and provides women with a network of other individuals dedicated to healthy, sober living.
Many clients benefit from Sure Haven’s Step Down Program – where they receive continued support after completing their initial treatment. Patients are able to go to school, work, attend 12-step meetings, continue counseling, and practice useful life skills that facilitate their successful transition back to society.
“Staying sober during detox was easy. It’s LIVING sober that was hard. This isn’t our first rodeo. We know that it’s easy for our daughter to stay sober during detox or in a primary treatment center where her activity is restricted. But how is she supposed to LIVE in her own home in a community and stay sober? Christie’s last chance was Sure Haven’s extended care program where she was loved and had a very structured enviornment. Over the last year the support was released gradually and as she stepped down in levels of care she began to gain her freedom only when she was ready to stay drug free and build a successful career and friendships.”
